Portola Valley
Nestled at the foot of the Western hills, Portola Valley strikes a balance between modern development and pastoral quiet. It is home to 4500 residents in 1700 households. Nineteen hundred acres of permanent open space exist within the town. With 36 miles of trails, Portola Valley has had a commitment to providing opportunities for walking and riding since the town’s founding.
Portola Valley is conveniently located just six minutes from Highway 280; 14 minutes from Stanford Shopping Center and University; 24 minutes from Google headquarters; and 32 minutes from San Francisco and San Jose international airports.
Portola Valley School District has two highly regarded public schools: Ormondale Elementary and Corte Madera Middle with API scores that are consistently ranked in the top percentiles in California. Portola Valley is also home to an independent college preparatory Roman Catholic day and boarding school, Woodside Priory School with grades 6-12.
The town has a variety of events for residents to enjoy. There are classes and sporting leagues for all ages, concerts and educational/cultural events, such as the Town Picnic, the Zot's to Tots 2.2 mile run, and the Blues & Barbecue cookout.
